In Persian mythology, Peris (singular: peri; from Persian: پری, romanized: perī, Persian pronunciation: [peɾiː], plural پريان periyān, Persian pronunciation: [peɾijɒːn]; borrowed in European languages through Ottoman Turkish: پَری, romanized: peri) are exquisite, winged spirits renowned for their beauty.
